Over the last year, we’ve been following Stone Temple Pilots’ search for a new frontman, but now, the band have announced their first live debut of their new singer. There’s just one problem though – we’re still no sure who it is.

Back in May, Stone Temple Pilots announced that they had settled on a new frontman, following a tumultuous few years which would see the group lose both Scott Weiland and Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington as their singer.

Then, just over a month ago, the band announced that they had even been working on music with their new frontman.

“We’ve been working with someone – I don’t want to name names yet – and we’re making music,” guitarist Dean DeLeo stated. “I don’t know if he’s well-known or unknown; I don’t look at him as ‘well-known.’ But we’re writing music and we’re hopefully looking at finishing a record and putting it out soon.”

Of course, the most mysterious thing about all this is that we still don’t know the name of their new vocalist. But it now seems that if we don’t find out beforehand, all will be revealed on November 14th when the band make their live debut with the singer.

As Alternative Nation reports, an email was sent out today to certain listeners of US radio station SiriusXM, offering them the chance to go in the running to score one of “a limited number of complimentary tickets” to the band’s upcoming show at the Troubador in West Hollywood on Tuesday, November 14th.

This performance is set to be the band’s first live performance in well over a year. Chester Bennington’s last performance with the group occurred in March of 2016, and the band then played two small performances just two months later, where they were joined by the likes of Corey Taylor and Gary Wright as their vocalist.

While the band have been rather tight-lipped about just who their new vocalist will be, we’re rather excited to find out who it will be. Dean DeLeo may have noted that the singer isn’t ‘well-known’, but Alternative Nation notes that Jeff Gutt (of The X Factor, Rival City and Dry Cell) and Pete Murray (of White Noise Owl) have been named as possible contenders.

Only time will tell, but we assure you that we’ll keep you updated when we find out who the band’s new frontman is.
