If you’ve been reading some of our articles over the last month, then you’d be no stranger to the news that Finn Wolfhard (otherwise known as Mike from Stranger Things) has been dabbling in the world of music. Now, his band have released their hotly-anticipated single.

Ever since he first appeared in the video for PUP’s ‘Sleep In The Heat’, Canadian actor Finn Wolfhard has slowly been entering the world of music. Having previously busted out some covers of classic tunes from bands like The Velvet Underground, Gun N’ Roses, and New Order, his band Calpurnia have been hotly-contended as one of the next buzz bands. After all, it’s hard to avoid that sort of hype when you star on a show as big as Stranger Things.

Now, as Esquire reports, the group have dropped ‘City Boy’, the first taste of their upcoming EP which is set to be released in a couple of months. Taking inspiration from the likes of Mac DeMarco (who has not only inspired the group, but will be taking them out on a North American tour later this year), ‘City Boy’ is a breezy, inoffensive indie-rock tune that indicates that there are some pretty good things in the pipeline for the group.

They’ve also shared a video for the track, which shows the band in the studio, having fun while recording with producer Cadien Lake James. “This video is a look into a day in the studio working on our record with Cadien, filmed and edited by our now great buddy Josiah Marshall,” explained guitarist Ayla Tesler-Mabe.

“Hopefully this video can convey how much fun this whole experience was for all of us, and that this music is really just the product of a bunch of friends who love music coming together to create something.”

With the group getting ready to release their debut EP soon, you can be sure that sooner or later, they’ll be making their way to Australia. Splendour In The Grass is on its way, after all…
