If you happened to turn down any plans for the upcoming Easter long weekend, it might be time to make some more, because the inaugural Good Saturday concert in Sydney has sadly been cancelled.

As we reported last month, the Good Saturday concert was set to take place in in Marrickville on March 31st, and was set to feature a day and evening set which would feature some of Australia’s best musos.

The all-ages day session was set to feature the Andy Golledge Band, Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, the brilliant All Our Exes Live In Texas, and C.W. Stoneking, performing throughout the day, while Jen Cloher, Augie March, Something For Kate, and You Am I were all slated for the evening session.

However a statement from organisers has today outlined the fact that the fest will no longer be going ahead as first planned.

“It is with deep regret that the organisers of Good Saturday announce that this year’s event, scheduled for Saturday March 31, will not be going ahead,” the statement noted. “Due to circumstances beyond the organisers control we are unable to proceed with this show. It’s not a decision any of us have taken lightly, and we apologise sincerely for any inconvenience caused.”

“Refunds will be available via Oztix, who will contact ticket holders directly.”
