It’s been a whirlwind few years for guitar-slinging virtuoso Tash Sultana – from stunning the streets of Melbourne with their unique brand of reggae-indie-free form fusion guitar to the mainstages of massive festivals, they have ridden a wave of well-deserved hype and success.

Ahead of the release of their debut album Flow State, set to drop on August 31st, Tash Sultana has revealed an ethereal new single ‘Free Mind’. According to Tash, ‘Free Mind’ has been in the works for a few years now, eventuating in a combination of a few songs pieced together.

“I couldn’t figure out how to put together until one day when I was in the studio it kind of just fell into place. I don’t usually write songs that are 3 minutes 30 seconds because I find that super challenging, but I feel like I have said what I needed to say. ‘When will my mind be free from all the chains that hold me down?’”

The track, which comes after the release of previous singles ‘Salvation’ and ‘Harvest Love’, is a totally ethereal, dreamlike delve into psych-drenched beats and noodly guitars that swarm in a feast of hazy-eyed hooks and luscious harmonies – it’s the perfect festival anthem.

Early last month, Tash Sultana announced a special one-off Australian headline show, alongside the likes of Ocean Alley and Lime Cordiale in the Sunshine Coast for January next year.
