Hailing from Ballarat but now Melbourne based, Tessa & The Typecast have fast become one of the most talked about groups in Australia, and are enjoying causing a stir across the music industry and amongst fans. Upon the release of their single ‘Painter’ in late 2010, they were immediately picked up by Triple J and XFM in London.

Selling out two single launches, the band then signed a one off single deal with General Pants to release ‘Painter’ on their Major Label. After  personally selected by Kate Nash to support her on her recent Australian tour. A residency in March at the Grace Darling Hotel in Melbourne saw the venue sell out every night.

Having performed with other artists as diverse as Little Red, The Vasco Era, The Fearless Vampire Killers, Owl Eyes and Kate Miller-Heidke, the band are proud to announce the release of their new single ‘Straight On ‘Til Morning’. Demoed in New York City and with final recordings completed in Melbourne, the single takes the band’s classic piano driven indie pop sound and adds in lashings of buzzsaw guitar, which saw the song debut on Triple J within hours of it reaching the station.

Tone Deaf presents a tour to launch the single which begins at The Toff In Town in Melbourne on Saturday July 2nd and winds its way to Sydney, Ballarat and Adelaide. For your preview of the single, click here: www.soundcloud.com/blankgeneration
