Sure we’ve heard about you before, but we think it’s time for Tone Deaf to get to know you a little better. Slip in to something comfortable while we put on some music, pour us a couple of drinks and turn the lights down low.

Who are you and what do you do in your act?

My name is Satan Andrews I attempt to play bass but do better at losing my shoes and consuming anything in my path

‘Fess up. What records have you stolen from your parent’s record collection and why?

None, at all, so so fucking boring.

What’s on heavy rotation on your iPod right now?

The sound of Bob Dylan being strangled by Ty Segall, it’s actually a really nice recording, you can hear the raspy vocal chords crackling as the new all American hero crushes every boring fucks conversation piece this side of Idaho.

‘Home taping is killing the music business’ was the catch-cry of the record industry in the 1970s, but it managed to survive until now. What do you think is the difference between mates taping copies of friend’s records back in the 80s and 90s and file sharing now?

Umm time… duh, to copy a tape takes as long as the song itself, you can steal a whole lifetime of music and store it on an ipod in about, hmmm 20 minutes.

You must answer this question honestly or we steal your rider. What was the first gig you went to? Where was it and what was the venue?

It was in Nelson NZ, it was betchadupa ( Liam Finn), Deja Vudu (back of the Y crazy fucks) and Tim Finn (stoned as all shit). Deja vudu did the 12 guitars of death and smashed 12 flaming nylon string guitars over the heads of retards wearing voodoo helmets. It moved me…..

What’s your favourite site to download music from and do you ever pay for it? Can we find any of your releases there?

Piratebay…. Who the fuck would ever bother to pirate our music, if they do I’ll buy them a shot of aids.

What artist made you want to pick up an instrument and/or sing?

Link Wray.

Have you ever been arrested?

Yeah in America, Don’t ask….

Do you have any particular ritual before you go on stage, or even a lucky charm you take with you?

A pint. Afterwards we have a ritual

What’s been your most outrageous rider request?

Never had the chance,

Because it’s more fun to do things together, which living Australian artist would you most like to collaborate with? Tell us why?

I’m doing it right now, collaborating with Geelong’s finest.

Right, let’s get really intimate. Tell us what releases you have that we can listen to with the lights down low, or even better, where we can see you play in person next.

A small album on Z-man called “Unprofitable Servant” and we have a new album that is all about done and ready to drop, No name for it yet, You’ll see. In the meantime we’re playing at The Workers Club in Melbourne this Wednesday 20th July as part of their Released Series with The Hierophants and DJ Ash Wednesday from Witch Hats spinnin’ toons all night.
