Regular Tone Deaf guests The Laurels have a new EP out and they’re about to head out on the road in support of US psych rockers The Black Angels before playing a string of headline shows themselves. Some of you may have been wondering how a band who has picked up plum supports with the likes of Tame Impala, Cloud Control, Swervedriver, Low, A Place To Bury Strangers, Jenny & Johnny and Beaches still hasn’t yet released an EP, but the sad fact of the matter was that they were broke and couldn’t afford to until now.

That’s all changed, however, as The Laurels’ debut EP Mesozoic is finally seeing light of day. Set to hit stores and merch tables on July 8th, the first extended offering from the four-piece from Sydney’s inner west which have made a name for themselves with their blend of psychedelic shoegaze bliss is set to deliver a set of psychedelic sturm und drang to stereos and lap tops across the nation.

They have been described as a mixture of My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, Sonic Youth, The Scientists and even a hybrid blend of The Beatles, but references aside, they are a sound bigger than their individual members, which means ou should get down to check out their stonkingly good live show on this tour. Kicking off with a few dates supporting Austin, Texas based psych rockers The Black Angels they’re then heading out to play select headline EP launches of their own!
