The Mars Volta have announced that they will be playing side shows after all when they hit Australian shores for the Splendour In The Grass Festival. The Texan wild men of rock, fronted and founded by guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López and vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala in 2001, masters of the prog-rock genre through  their five impressive releases which have spawned fan favourites such as ‘Wax Simulacra’, ‘Viscera Eyes’, ‘Cotopaxi’ and so on.

In their first tour since they played the Big Day Out last year, the band will be bringing their sonic bass rumble to shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, which will no doubt see their hordes of fans in ecstasy once again.
