The first single from The Owls’ forthcoming release Own The Streets is ‘Krakow’, and it’s a hit.

After countless live shows with the likes of The Cribs, The Jezabels, DZ Deathrays, and Ball Park Music, and an amazing EP Swamp Love, The Owls have certainly paved the way for what is set to be one badass record.

Melodic, frantic, and delightfully catchy, ‘Krakow’ perfectly captures a sound reminiscent of the likes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Kasabian, while still retaining The Owls’ style.

I found myself tonight”, the resonating line of the song, reflects the band’s change in perspective – one that captures the metaphorical transformation the group embarked on during their recent absence.

The four-piece spent time in the Poland city during their self-imposed exile. The grey skies and historical buildings served as inspiration for this wonderful sense of musical imagery, extracted and captured and made to play loud.

Gloomy bass and guitar riffs make the song the perfect soundtrack to kick off weekend shenanigans, or to simply sit back and toe tap the night away. There’s a lot of versatility to this tune, making the wait for their forthcoming Own The Streets all the more exciting.
