Highly acclaimed and much loved Aussie band The Panics are going to be back front left and centre in July as they embark on a national tour which will give fans a preview of songs from their forthcoming album, Rain on the Humming Wire.  The new single, Majesty from the J Award-winning band, brings front man Jae Laffer’s iconic srorytelling to the fore, with the single tipped to become an Australian indie anthem for 2011. A widescreen burst of classic songwriting, the song displays Jae Laffer’s trademark lyrical prowess and evokes the sense of space and distance perfected by The Triffids.

It’s been four years since the release of their ARIA award–winning album ‘Cruel Guards’  and new long player Rain On The Humming Wire sees them return to the form that saw ‘Don’t Fight It’ become ubiquitous on the air waves.  The new album was recorded in upstate New York at Dreamland Studios located just outside Woodstock and Electric Lady in New York, with the band working with producer John O’Mahony (Metric, Alberta Cross). The band spent time in the UK following the ARIA Award success of Cruel Guards, but have returned to Melbourne with their new album in the can and are set to do what they do best – play live.

The Panics’ tour kicks off in Adelaide in early July with the new album Rain on The Humming Wire due out on July 29th, 2011 through Dew Process/UMA.  To check out the awesome new single ‘Majesty’ head to www.facebook.com/thepanics. Tickets to the tour are on sale now.
