The Pixiekills are a three-piece who moved to the city of Sydney from the coastal town of Port Macquarie earlier this year and are currently working on new songs for their upcoming EP. With a slot on this year’s Festival of the Sun, The Pixiekills are setting their guns to stun. Yikes. Anyways, we wanna talk to them about FESTIVALS.
What was the first festival you ever went to?
Splendour in the Grass in 2006. A lot of firsts went down that weekend… I remember being blown away by TV On The Radio and finally understanding girls completely crushing out on rockers when I saw Karen O live. Giddy like a wee lil’ schoolgirl I was.
Share with us your most memorable non-musical festival moment – either as a performer or a punter.
That’s a tough one.. Most of the time you’ve had about 23 of those ‘moments’ before you’ve even walked through the gates.. that is, if you’re doing it right.
Now give us the best ever musical moment!
That’s way too hard a question so we’ll just list a few of our all time favourites so far:

Art Vs Science, Ladyhawke, Dan Sultan, Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Floatingme, The Snowdroppers, Young Revelry, Brother Grim, Guineafowl, King Cannons, The Delta Riggs, The Medics, Benjalu, Pigeon, The Pixiekills, Ben Wells & The Middle Names, Colin Moore, Claude Hay, Blake Noble, Microwave Jenny, Larissa McKay The Lyrical, Surecut Kids DJs. And The Stones.

Location is everything when it comes to staging an incredible festival event. If anything was possible, and no damage lasting, where would you stage your dream festival?
Loft.
Festival Of The Sun has an amazing lineup this year – who are you looking forward to seeing yourself?
But our buddies, Dirty Little Rebels if/when they win Unearthed will be at the top of that list.

Hmm… we heard a little something-something about our mate Davo at this very festival when The Foreign Objects played.
