Last month, Triple J announced the return of their annual Triple J Unearthed High competition. Once again, entry was open to bands, solo acts, producers, and emcees, as long as at least half of the act is in high-school.

As always, the winning act will be flown to Triple J’s studio to have their song professionally recorded, remixed, or mastered by the J’s Music Producers and be played on Triple J and Triple J Unearthed.

Triple J will also come to your school and you’ll be joining the ranks of previous Unearthed High winners like Japanese Wallpaper, who took out last year’s top prize, as well as Lunatics On Pogosticks, Stonefield, and more.

Howver, the prize just got even bigger. Triple J did mention that part of the prize pack would be professional music advice from a top Australian act and their manager, but they didn’t mention just who the top Aussie acts would be.

Given the huge number of impressive tracks uploaded to Triple J Unearthed so far, Triple J are super excited to announce that they’re beefing up their prize pack big time with some awesome ‘Career Advisors’ for Unearthed High 2015.

For the first year after you win, you’re gonna get some fair dinkum knowledge juice from some of Australia’s best to keep you grounded, give you advice, and help you navigate the next steps in what is hopefully a very long, very prosperous career.

Triple J are assuring entrants that this won’t be “practise makes perfect” advice, either. This will be real-time, experience-based, situation-specific insight from artists who have genuinely been there and done that.

So who will the winner be learning from? Oh, you know, just EDM queen Alison Wonderland, metalcore favourites Northlane, legendary party-starters Art vs Science, alt-rock heroes The Jezabels, and local hip-hop sensation Illy.

Entries close Monday, 3rd August, with finalists set to be announced on Monday, 10th August and the winning act to be unveiled on Thursday, 20th August. There’s not long left now, so don’t waste any time and get cracking.
