While it might be too much to hope for to have the whole band back together, we’ll at least have the chance to see a portion of the band sharing the same stage next month, as two former members head to Australia to play Cherry Rock on May 7.

With a typically-stacked lineup of rock talent, the longstanding Melbourne festival now boasts two Kyuss vets, with drummer and founding member Brant Bjork joining bassist Nick Oliveri on the bill.

The pair haven’t played together since their Kyuss Lives! reunion tour in 2011, but we wouldn’t be at all surprised if Oliveri is up for a Kyuss-themed jam with Bjork on the Cherry Bar stage, along with his set with current outfit Dwarves.

Oliveri was in Australia recently for a solo acoustic tour and a set at Mojo Burning festival, but busted out a special set at Frankie’s Pizza in Sydney with locals Sumeru, playing a range of Kyuss tracks as an apology for the gig’s delay due to a visa issue.

Hopefully he’ll be all set to make it into the country for Cherry Rock on May 7, and we can potentially see at least a segment of Kyuss together again alongside the likes of Totally Unicron, Shihad, Amyl & the Sniffers, and more.
