Having just completed an attention-grabbing support jaunt with Australian singer-songwriter Bob Evans, Sydney’s Tigertown, a self-described “familial dream-pop five piece” are ready to unleash their next single, ‘What You Came Here For’ and to celebrate, they’ve announced details of a new national headline tour.

Following on from their previous lush radio beauties, such as ‘Go Now’, ‘Lions and Witches’, and inaugural hit ‘Morning Has Finally Come’, Tigertown’s latest single ‘What You Came Here For’ pushes the band’s signatures sounds towards new sonic horizons, expanding their strident vocal harmonies, evocative instrumentation, and all-important hooks into finely crafted wholes.

Recorded in the Blue Mountains with AMP Award winning producer Liam Judson (Cloud Control, Belles Will Ring), the single also received additional production and a mix by the ubiquitous Steven Schram (San Cisco, Little Red, Little Birdy).

‘What You Came Here For’ is also the first taste from the band’s brand new EP, due for release in the very near future, and the follow-up to the quintet’s popular Morning Has Come EP of last year, which scored an 8/10 score from our Tone Deaf reviewer, who noted “the diversity of influences makes for an intriguing sound that is likely to keep you interested in what the future holds for the emerging band.”

Following on from their 2011 self-titled debut EP, 2012’s Before The Morning has catapulted attention Tigertown’s way and demonstrated big promise in the hard working young band, who have scoured touring trails across the country and clocked up thousands of kilometres in their tour van while their single ‘Morning Has Finally Come’ clocked up in excess of 65,000 downloads.Across just two EPs – 2011’s self-titled and 2012’s Before The Morning – Tigertown has become one of the most promising and hard working young bands in the country having clocked up thousands of kilometres in the tour van as well as in excess of 65,000 downloads of their last single Morning Has Finally Come.

Their set to crank the pedometer once again when they embark on a headline national tour throughout June and July, with support from The Starry Field – the new musical project of former member of The Middle East and award-winning producer, Mark Myers.
