Cheeky guitar popsters The Lulu Raes recently took to the road on a whirlwind four-city tour supporting who else but The Jungle Giants, so Marcus Finocchiaro and his moustache have taken us through the experience of taking the band on the road.

The band will be heading out on a national tour once again in September, celebrating the release of their debut EP, All Our Parents Are Divorced, which is out August 5. You can find tour dates below.

CHAMPAGNE BEGINNINGS

I’m on a plane going to Brisbane with my friends. Eddie sits next to me and Tom behind. We solved a word jumble in the in flight magazine. The answer was CHAMPAGNE.

POOL IN THE VALLEY

Taras naps on the couch at Eddie’s dad’s house in Mt. Gravatt while the boys and I go into Fortitude Valley to have a beer and play some pool. Eddie films on his handicam, but we don’t know how to get the tapes onto a computer.

DUMPLING CONNOISEURS

We arrive early again and check into our hotel. We walk around Chinatown and walk into four dumpling houses before finally settling for this one. Eddie reads a Chinese newspaper.

DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE

Dreams really do come true as we are granted access to the priority check-in so as to not miss our flight. Eddie poses for a celebratory photo and we go home for a week.

SYDNEY TO MELBOURNE WITH JOHN DENVER

As day four begins, we set our alarms for dawn and pile into the van. Eddie takes the first driving shift to the soundtrack of John Denver’s ‘Take Me Home, Country Road’.

COFFEES AT THE TUCKERBOX

We pull off the highway to get coffees and Eddie poses in front of Gundagai’s infamous Tuckerbox Inn Motel.

FREEZING IN MELBS

We make it to Melbourne alive, and complain a lot about the four degree cold. My phone ran out of battery when we got to the venue so I have no pictures of the venue or the gig.

THE FINAL SHOW

On day five, Marcus and Eddie share a banterful moment on stage at the Metro in Sydney - the final show of the tour (my mum took this one).

SHIT-TALKING ONSTAGE

More shit-talking onstage between songs. Audience members raise hands in reassurance.

CELEBRATING WITH MUM

Mum joins the lads backstage at the Metro after the final show of the tour and my phone dies again.
