Whack on your most moshed-in cargo shorts and grab your backwards cap because two of MTV 1999’s heaviest hitters are in the studio working on an upcoming project together.

At the forefront of rock in the late 90s and early 00s, blink-182 and Limp Bizkit both left their own unique mark on the world, acting as gateway bands into the greater universes of punk and metal for many music fans.

Now, the two geniuses responsible for the two band’s iconic material have joined forces to cook up what’ll probably be a very heavy, fast and loud collaboration.

Limp Bizkit’s legendary guitarist, Borland has taken to Instagram to reveal that him an Barker are working on a “yet to be titled new project”

Borland took to Instagram again to reveal that he “wrote 7 songs in 12 hours” and that the music would be part of a “new record” with “more drums from Travis Barker to come”.

The Limp Bizkit guitarist revived his project Big Dumb Face last year, releasing the album Where Is Duke Lion? He’s Dead, the band’s first album since 2001.

You can catch Borland play with Limp Bizkit at the inaugural Australian installment of Download Festival, with they’ll be playing alongside the likes of fellow nu metal legends Korn, punk icons NOFX and metal Gods Mastodon.
