As per usual, triple j has spent the last week delivering some absolutely amazing tracks to your ears, with amazing Aussie acts getting plenty of spin, while sharing the spotlight with our international friends as well.

With so many amazing artists and songs floating around the airwaves, it can be a little hard to keep track of what we’ve been listening to over the week. Well, thanks to our friends over at J Play, you don’t have to worry about not knowing who the most popular artists on triple j are each week any more.

triple j’s most-played artists for the week

20. Gretta Ray

Gretta Ray recently dropped her most recent EP, Here And Now, and triple j listeners have been loving it. Another stunning collection of tunes from the Unearthed High alumni, the lead single ‘Radio Silence’ has ironically been getting enough airplay to score it the position of this week’s eighth most-played track.

19. Eves Karydas

Eves Karydas has been on the scene for a number of years now, and has been delivering the goods ever since she first the airwaves. Now, with tracks ‘Couch’ having served as one of the most-played tracks on the station, and a stunning Aretha Franklin cover Like A Version recently, it’s hardly any surprise that Eves Karydas has made it onto this list.

18. Matt Corby

Matt Corby has recently dropped his newest song, ‘No Ordinary Life’, and it’s a much-welcome return for the Aussie indie legend. Described as being ‘Willy Wonka-esque’, the track has been getting plenty of airtime, being ranked as this week’s seventh most-played song.

17. BROCKHAMPTON

BROCKHAMPTON are gearing up to release their new album, Iridescence, this month. Having already released a couple of year-themed tracks, including ‘1999 Wildfire’ and ‘1998 Truman’, fans have been digging these new ones enough to see the former score the honour of being named this week’s 15th most-played track.

16. Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon dropped their newest song, ‘Mantra’, recently, and fans have been going wild over the group’s return. With their new album, amo, set to drop in January and an Australian tour also on the way, the group currently have this week’s sixth most-played track, and you can expect to only see them go higher.

WA’s Good Doogs have been going from strength to strength recently, with their tunes getting plenty of airplay on the station. 14. Khalid

Khalid might only be 20, but that hasn’t stopped this talented musician from bloody everywhere on the airwaves over the last year! With tracks like ‘lovely’ with Billie Eillish, and ‘Eastside’ (his collaboration with Benny Blanco and Halsey) doing the rounds, it’s hardly any surprise that Khalid is already at work on a brand new album. 13. Mac Miller

Two years on from 2016’s The Divine Feminine, Mac Miller released his latest album, Swimming, earlier this month to critical acclaim. 10. Broods

It’s been a couple of years since we last heard new music from New Zealand’s brother-and-sister duo Broods, but that hasn’t stopped the group from putting together some of the finest tunes you’ll hear all year. With their new record, Don’t Feed the Pop Monster, on its way in early 2019, lead single ‘Peach’ has been doing the rounds enough to be this week’s third most-played track.

9. Wafia

Everything we’ve ever heard from Wafia has turned out to be a piece of pure perfection, and her latest track is no exception. Titled ‘I’m Good’, it’s not only the second most-played track on triple j this week, but another sign of brilliance to come from this stunning muso.

8. Peking Duk

One of the headlining acts from this weekend’s One Night Stand, Peking Duk have been getting plenty of love from triple j lately. Even with dropping a couple of new tracks earlier this year, we don’t appear to be any closer to getting a full-length from these lads. Here’s hoping that’s going to change soon enough!

7. RÜFÜS DU SOL

Having recently changed their name to Rüfüs Du Sol for good, the trio have been gearing up to release their upcoming record, SOLACE. While we’ve already heard a handful of new tracks from the record, newest single ‘Underwater’ has proven to be another winner for the group, becoming this week’s fourth most-played track.

6. Trophy Eyes

Trophy Eyes recently dropped their triple j feature album, The American Dream, and triple j listeners haven’t been able to get enough of the group’s blistering jams, pounding rhythms, and stunning vocals. With tracks such as ‘Friday Forever’ still doing the rounds and serving as this week’s most-played track, you can count on the fact that Trophy Eyes are well on track to score a well-deserved spot in this year’s Hottest 100.

Even with no tracks in this week’s list of most-played tunes, Tkay Maidza still has the talent and popularity to score plenty of love from triple j and its listeners.

4. CHVRCHES

CHVRCHES dropped their latest album, Love Is Dead, a number of months ago, and fans couldn’t get enough of its brilliant tunes. Now, with the group having recently been named as one of the acts headed down under for this year’s Falls Festival, it’s hardly any surprise that their slick tracks have seen them get enough airplay to score a place on this list.

Vance Joy has had an amazing year, having released his second album, Nation Of Two, touring the world, and getting ready to kick off an Aussie tour. With his track ‘One Of These Days’ currently the 13th most-played track on the station, fans have been loving this amazing local musician and the great work he does.

1. Tash Sultana

It’s been a long time coming, but last week saw Tash Sultana release her long-awaited debut album, Flow State.
