As we recently noted, the triple j Hottest 100 countdown is just around the corner and the folks at our national youth broadcaster are getting into the swing of counting down by unveiling a list of their 100 best discoveries off triplejunearthed.com.

triple j’s beloved discovery website is currently celebrating 10 years since it first went online and first introduced us to such incredible acts as Flume, Kingswood, Luca Brasi, Tash Sultana, Vance Joy, Courtney Barnett, eventual Hottest 100 winners The Rubens, and more.

Flume took out the top spot. The Sydney producer first came to the attention of Unearthed after he uploaded a track called ‘Possum’, which he told triple j was an experiment he made in his bedroom as part of a new project he’d recently started.

“I was just an awkward teenager going to high school, working on beats in my bedroom,” he told the station. “That was ground zero for it all, I decided to do a side-project because I was making more club, melodic, chill stuff. That was the first track.”

You can check out the full list below. Let it serve as inspiration and a reminder that this list of incredible musicians, many of whom have gone on to sell out massive venues and release multi-platinum albums, all started by clicking ‘Upload’ on Unearthed.
