1,672 missed calls, and 3,541 text messages. All from strangers, all totally unsolicited.

This was the result of triple j Breakfast host Ben’s “prank”, which was less a prank and more an elongated torture session, which involved him giving away the ten digits of Liam’s number over ten different episodes, through “riddles” that are more blatant than most.

“The riddles were pathetic to say the least and now I’ve been swamped with calls”, Liam grumbled.

Luckily, most of the callers have been rather nice, which is rather beside the point, really.

This prank echoes a similar situation last year at triple j, when previous Breakfast host Tom Ballard accidentally gave out Alex Dyson’s number on air, after playing back an old community radio segment from years earlier, which included Alex’s mobile number – which he had kept for all those years.
