TV on the Radio have played their last show for a year to take some time off at to spend time at home with their families.

The bands electrifying set at the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco spanned three albums and included crowd favourites ‘Wrong Way’ and ‘Wolf Like Me’. The acclaimed performance included backing from a three piece horn section adding a further shot of energy to an already feverish set.

Speaking to MTV, Tunde Adebimpe said “This was the last show for us, for a while. We’ve decided to take, well, the going theory is to take about a year off, because you have to go and live a life and change things up.”

Fans looking for another dose of TVOTR related material can still look forward to Guitarist/singer Kyp Malone’s new solo record, released under the name Rain Machine. Coming on September 22, the album produced by Dave Sitek (TVOTR, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) is said to showcase the more percussive and rhythmic side of Malone.

Tunde Adebimpe will also be keeping busy appearing on the track ‘Pray For Rain’ on the upcoming Massive Attack EP ‘Splitting The Atom’.
