You might remember how we were celebrating Tash Sultana’s stellar debut performance on US television when she appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers last week. Now, we’ve got another Aussie to congratulate, after Vance Joy hit up Jimmy Kimmel Live! recently to deliver a breathtaking performance.

Currently in the middle of a North American tour, Vance Joy took to the stages of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to stun audiences with a performance of his 2014 track ‘Georgia’, in addition to his newest single ‘Lay It On Me’. Appearing on the same show as US comedian Whitney Cummings, and Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth, Vance Joy was in fine company as he exhibited his unique brand of indie-folk to an adoring US crowd.

Making a strong choice to avoid the stigma of being labelled a one-hit wonder by an American crowd, Vance Joy’s decision not to play his breakthrough single ‘Riptide’ seemed to be well-received by the audience, who heartily applauded his performance of the two tracks.

While we’re not too sure when Vance Joy is planning to release his second studio record, but if the rest of the tracks are even half as good as the single ‘Lay It On Me’, we might just be seeing another banner year for the Melbourne muso. Will he be able to do a Powderfinger and get his second #1 in the Hottest 100? Let’s not jump the gun, but we’ll be sure keep a close eye on next year’s countdown.

If Vance Joy’s performance has struck a chord with you, make sure you head along to see him on his Aussie tour later this year, which includes performances in Melbourne and Sydney with 2016 triple j Unearthed High winner Gretta Ray, and a spot on the lineup for Canberra’s Spilt Milk Festival.
