Considering how long the Soho boys have been together, and how especially busy they’ve been since Hungry Ghost and then WACO blew minds the world over, perhaps we shouldn’t be at all surprised that Violent Soho are ready to pack it in for a while.

The West Australian quotes an interview that guitarist James Tidswell has given to the South Western Times, in which he states that the Bunbury leg of the Groovin The Moo festival will be the last time the band will be working together for the forseeable future.

“I know it’s going to be big, it will be the best one of the whole tour and it will be so emotional for us because it will be our last time playing indefinitely,” he told the publication.

“There is nothing booked after that, no album, we haven’t demoed any songs, we aren’t touring so that’s it – I 100 per cent guarantee it will be at least a year before we do anything else.

“It’s been an amazing six years and it’s the end of this whole sort of ride really,” he added. “We will always be a band and always play, but this is the end of going this hard.”

So, Groovin The Moo fans are very lucky indeed, and no doubt plenty of Soho fans will be clamouring for a ticket.

Update: Violent Soho have reassured fans via Twitter that, yes, this is merely a hiatus, and that they aren’t breaking up.
