Two of rock’s enduring legends have jumped onstage to help each other out with covering a blues classic, showing off their well purveyed chops and love for getting loud and rowdy, no matter what the setting seems to be.

Brain Johnson hopped up to surprise the eager crowd at Mick Fleetwood’s restaurant, ‘Fleetwood’s’, to perform a growling cover of the classic track ‘(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66’, telling the crowd it was “a big honour” to join the Fleetwood Mac legend on stage.

Always the jokester, Johnson mispronounced Mick’s name as “Flick Meetwood” and added “breaking these teeth in for a friend”.

In 2016, Brian Johnson was forced into retirement due to his hearing loss, advising fans that “a series of examinations by leading physicians in the field of hearing loss, I was advised that if I continue to perform at large venues, I risked total deafness.”

Late last year, Johnson also penned a heartfelt message to his former bandmate Malcolm Young, saying that, “I am proud to have known him and call him a friend, and I’m going to miss him so much. He has left a legacy that I don’t think many can match.”
