For eighteen or so months there in 1992 and 1993, Ugly Kid Joe were a massive deal, with their Wayne’s World-assisted hit ‘Everything About You’, the follow up ‘Neighbor’, and perhaps the song they became most known for: a cover of Harry Chapin’s 1974 hit ‘Cat’s In The Cradle’.

Their poster was even in the Bubble Boy episode of Seinfeld.

The band split in 1997, but reformed a few years back to take advantage of the ’90s nostalgia wave, even releasing an album in 2015 named Uglier Than They Used To Be.

Ugly Kid Joe were playing the Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium over the weekend when they were joined by Evanescence singer Amy Lee for a cracking version of ‘Cat’s In The Cradle’, which you can watch below.

When not playing Belgian festivals, Evanescence are currently re-recording a number of their past singles with a symphony orchestra for a forthcoming album named Synthesus.
