Thanks to our friends New Music Industry – we are giving you the chance to have Money For Rope play your house party.

The term “housewarming” is descended literally from the act of warming a new house in the days before central heating. Each guest would bring gifts of firewood and build fires in all the available fireplaces. Aside from warming the house, this was also believed to repel evil spirits by creating a protective atmosphere of warmth. Uninhabited houses were considered targets for vagrant spirits, and therefore required a certain level of cleansing before a house was safe to be occupied by young children.

Now it’s your turn to throw a “Housewarming” Party, where you have the chance to have some of Melbourne’s top bands play for you and your friends at home.

You name the place, invite your friends and we’ll do the rest!!

Because we now live in the future, we won’t bring the gift of firewood. We will however provide you with one of Melbournes finest bands, all of the special equipment to make it work and a photographer to capture it all unfold.. Play it right and you may get a special DJ set thrown in by the band.

Since this is the first of many to come we thought we would kick it off on January 21st 2012, with a band certain to get any room up and dancing. We are very excited to have Money For Rope as our band of choice to play for you AT YOUR HOUSE!!! The have supported The Vasco Era, The Mess Hall, Those Darlins, Even, The Meanies, Celibate Rifles, Bob Log III, The Cruel Sea, Wolf & Cub and Fearless Vampire Killers. They got it when they played to thousands at Splendour In The Grass, Cherry Rock, and the legendary Community Cup.
