Manchester indie rock band WU LYF have cancelled their appearances at next years Laneway Festival ‘due to unforeseen circumstances’. The group were set to play Australia’s biggest indie festival around the country and two sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.

A statement posted on the Laneway Festival Facebook page delivered the bad news to fans:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, WU LYF have been forced to cancel their appearance at the Laneway Festival 2012, as well as their Sydney and Melbourne shows this February. The band and promoter sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. For info on how to get refunds for sideshows tickets.”

It is unclear whether a replacement for the band will be sought. WU LYF were last in Australia as part of the Vivid Festival in Sydney earlier this year.

Patrons that have purchased tickets to the Prince show online will have their money automatically refunded to the card used for the transaction, and if they purchased them from a Moshtix outlet, they need to return to the point of purchase for their refund.

Refunds to the Metro show are available from point of purchase. Online and call centre bookings will be refunded automatically back to the credit card used at the time of booking. Please allow at least 10 full working days for the refund to come through. Agency and outlet sales customers need to return their tickets for a refund.
