The xx recently reactivated after the project’s eponymous leader, Jamie xx, decided to take a bit of time out from the band to work on his solo career, a creatively fruitful period that resulted in the album In Colour, widely lauded as one of the best albums of 2015.

But he’s launched back into full band mode with The xx set to drop their third album, I See You, next month. We’ve already managed to get a sneak peek of what to expect from the new record in the form of ‘On Hold’, noted for featuring a sample of the 1981 Hall & Oates classic ‘I Can’t Go For That’.

But what we really want to know is that now that they’ve finally regrouped, when can we expect to see them Down Under again? Well, Instagram may just have the answer to your prayers. The band recently took to their official Insta channel to cheekily tease an upcoming Aussie trek.

The post, which you can check out below, simply read “G’day!” and was accompanied by a photo of all three band members in front of our beloved Sydney Opera House. We don’t know about you, but we’ll be keeping a beady eye out for a tour announcement in the upcoming weeks.

Considering the band have a new album to promote, which is set to drop smack dab in the middle of our summer festival season, we may just see The xx popping up on a future festival lineup somewhere. Fingers crossed, at least.

G’day! xx The xx
